Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as as seen through flashback) her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. Fearing stress, her parents were not keen to let her pursue acting before she reached the age of 18. Perry she was shy to be a part of the theater in her school, began performing in theater classes at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new friends. After graduating Perry relocated to New York to search for television work landing small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought the actress back to California which is where she discovered theatre work. She performed on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. The father of her Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie alongside her in the year 2015. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes of ABC's show The Family. In 2017, Perry had a minor role on the ABC political drama Scandal in which her father was the main character. The same year her character was cast the younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen version of her mother's. Despite having a family connection to the character she received the role via an audition.
