She is a well-known athlete in American the history of sports. She is one of just six women to has won in each of the five alpine skiing World Cup events. All told, she has won an impressive 82 World Cup championships. An elite skier and one of America's most successful ski racers have made the decision to quit after the World Championships that will be held in Sweden. The onset of a series of health issues led her to become a multiple World Cup Overall Champion to make the decision to retire. She used social media to announce her retirement.
