Firefly is Whedon s next huge TV show that is a huge success. She must have left an impression on viewers, as this one episode led to her becoming an acclaimed actress. Summer Glau played River Tam effortlessly. Glau was an excellent actor. In the role of Tam, the character was required to participate in government research in which she was being made to become an ideal assassin. Tam's capacity to control her emotions has been taken from her. Glau got the chance to show off not only her acting talents, but her skills as a combat ace in Firefly. Her experience as an assassin gave her the opportunity to use the full range of athletic skills she has. Summer Glau is a classically trained ballerina. Her dancing prowess also includes studies in tango and flamenco but it was a broken toe that ended her dancing career. Firefly featured only one episode but it became a massive success. Fans of Whedon's were so enthusiastic that Whedon returned to it 2 years after. Summer Glau kept on getting some good work. Summer Glau was a regular on TV shows including Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
